Running for the second half of my life
First-hand accounts of footraces from a middle-aged runner in the middle of the pack
May 29, 2017: Georgia Peach Jam - Half Marathon
Before the race: Megan, Bonnie, me, Carl, and Sheelagh
The Big Creek Greenway, near Cumming, GA
To make a 2 hour and 9 minute story short:
I ran the first six miles at a conservative 9:10 min / mile pace.
Then I slowed down.
But I finished!
Congratulations! Carl won second place in his age group!
